"Nel corso delle vacanze estive, Danny conosce e passa molto tempo insieme a Sandy, una ragazza che però deve tornare in Australia. Sicuro di averla persa, il ragazzo la ritrova invece all'inizio dell'anno scolastico poiché, trasferitasi da Sidney, si è a sua volta iscritta alla "Rydell". Mentre Sandy cerca di fare amicizia con le Pink Ladies, Marty, Frenchy e Jean, capeggiate da Rizzo, Danny trascorre il suo tempo con gli amici Dooby, Sonny e Putzie. Anzi, non volendo perdere la sua fama di "duro", il ragazzo finge di essere indifferente al fascino della ragazza quando se la ritrova accanto. Sandy, allora, civetta con il culturista Tom, e Danny, ingelosito, tenta di iscriversi nelle squadre sportive della scuola. Alla fine i due fanno coppia fissa ma nel corso della gara di ballo teletrasmessa, Sandy si trova sostituita in finale dall'equivoca Cha-cha che Danny sembra preferire e con la quale vince. Ma la situazione lentamente si sistema. Nel corso di una gara automobilistica, nella quale Danny lotta contro il leader dei rivali "Scorpion", Sandy che lo guarda da lontano capisce di voler cambiare per lui. L'anno volge alla fine e nel corso della festa che festeggia i neo-diplomati, Sandy e Danny ballano perfettamente affiatati."
