"The disease burden attributable to harmful use of alcohol is significant and in many countries public health problems caused by it represent a substantial health, social and economic burden. Reduction of harmful use of alcohol is becoming a priority area on national, regional and global levels. Alcohol-related harm can be reduced through the implementation of proven alcohol strategies. The report presents the latest data from Europe in the areas of alcohol consumption, harm and responses.
