"As with most anthologies, this collection of three Mother's Day novellas is a mixed bag. The premise of all three is that Alonzo Clark, a popular radio talk/music show host, is running a Mother's Day contest that will give the winning single mom (entries must be submitted by the entrant's offspring) a day at a spa, a shopping spree, and a blind date with a local eligible bachelor. The stories are set in New York, North Carolina, and Michigan. Savoy's tale puts Alonzo himself together with a woman who works in his building and has a remarkable son who has uncovered Alonzo's fatherly instincts. Jacquelin Thomas' tale of a long-divorced couple who have a 14-year-old paraplegic son has lots of interesting bits, but the pacing is off. The final tale, a charming and captivating one by Karen White-Owens, has the children of a conscientious schoolteacher and a bereaved lawyer conspiring to get their parents together."--Diana Tixier Herald for BookList.
