"On Easter Day, 1865, more than 13,000 battle hardened Union soldiers converged on the city of Columbus, Georgia with the expressed purpose of destroying it, and with the Confederacy's last depots of supply and manufacturing. They faced only 3,000 defenders made up mainly of reservists, old men and boys as young as 11 in a battle that did not have to be fought since Robert E. Lee had already surrendered and Abraham Lincoln had been assassinated days earlier. Executive producers Richard Lifshey and James Bridges bring this battle to life through dramatic recreations of the daytime and nighttime assaults on the city. Historians, actors and hundreds of Civil War re-enactors combine with period music to bring this long forgotten battle back to life and explain how this small struggle actually foretold the future and continues to affect our modern day lives in ways no one could have imagined -- Container."
