When Dave Drayton notices a strange mist on the lake, he does not think much of it. When his son, Billy, his neighbor Brent Norton, and himself travel to the grocery store, strange things begin to happen. On their way to the market, they see the army, the local firefighters and police, heading toward the mist. When he sees this, Brent mentions something about "Project Arrowhead," a secret military plan that no one knows about. All of the store's shoppers had no clue what was going on until an elderly man runs into the market with a bloody nose, declaring that something is in mist. He tells them to close the door. The entire store shakes as though it has been lifted off the ground. Dave, a store employee is asked to check on the generator and finds that the loading dock door was being pushed by something outside. Norm, the bag-boy volunteers to go out. He is taken by a creature with large squid-like tentacles. Mrs. Carmody, a customer in the store, exclaims that it is the end of times and that God is punishing them.
"This is a horror film based on a Stephen King novella. In Maine, illustrator David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his nine-year-old son go the local supermarket with their neighbor, attorney Brent Norton. A mist descends on the store, and someone comes in screaming and bloody. When it becomes apparent there are terrifying creatures in the mist, the people in the market try to figure out what to do. Meanwhile, a religious fanatic goes on a rant."

The people soon discover that within the mist lives numerous species of horrific, unworldly creatures that entered through an inter-dimensional rift, which may or may not have been caused by a nearby military base. As the world around them manifests into a literal hell-on-earth, the horrified citizens try desperately to survive this apocalyptic disaster."@en

(Mymovies)."

"Frequent Stephen King collaborator Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) teamed with the celebrated horror author once again for this tale of terror concerning a small town engulfed by a malevolent mist, based on a story originally published in King's 1985 horror anthology Skeleton Crew. When a thick fog descends upon a rural community and claims the lives of anyone unfortunate enough to be caught outside, a small band of survivors seeks refuge in a local grocery store. Now trapped in a darkened cloud of pure horror, the frightened denizens of the town are forced to fend off an advancing horde of murderous monsters. Punisher star Thomas Jane heads up an ensemble cast that includes Andre Braugher, Laurie Holden, William Sadler, and Marcia Gay Harden."@en
