  • "John V. A. Weaver was a poet, novelist, and screenwriter; his works were produced both on stage and in film. After graduating from Hamilton College in 1914, Weaver went to work in the newspaper industry - first with the Chicago Daily News and later with the Brooklyn Daily Eagle - and then later worked for Paramount. Weaver married American actress Peggy Wood in 1924. The John V. A. Weaver papers contain notes, typescripts, and miscellaneous other writings pertaining to Weaver's literary works, including The Girl and the Gob and Love 'Em and Leave 'Em, and his "Anthology of Poems, Phrases, etc. that were Especially Well Liked by Myself." Also included are a notebook kept by Weaver while at Hamilton College in 1914, typescripts of The Grand Tour and Bernard Shaw-A Roaring Lamb, and his death mask."
