"Molte preoccupazioni attanagliano Bruce Wayne, alias Batman, nella tormentata Gotham City. Al pericoloso e sadico Harvey Dent, ex procuratore divenuto cattivo dopo che a un processo gli hanno sfigurato metà volto col vetriolo, si aggiunge l'enigmista e scienziato folle e geniale Edward Nygma, un ambizioso impiegato di Wayne, che, vista respinta dal principale, che lui ammira molto, un'innovativa e pericolosa invenzione, che permette la manipolazione del cervello attraverso la televisione, decide di allearsi con Dent nella lotta senza quartiere contro Batman. Intanto Wayne ad una serata di beneficenza al Circo invita la bella psicologa Chase Meridian, invaghita del suo alter ego: Dent irrompe durante lo spettacolo e causa la morte della famiglia d'acrobati Grayson, della quale sopravvive solo Dick, alias Robin. Intanto Nygma propone sempre nuovi indovinelli a Wayne, mentre scade rapidamente l'intrattenimento televisivo, riducendo praticamente a tanti zombie i teleutenti col suo diabolico marchingegno che virtualizza olograficamente i pensieri della gente. Approfittando della festa di Halloween, Dent e Nygma penetrano nel palazzo di Wayne e distruggono quasi totalmente la sua attrezzatura necessaria per le sue esibizioni come Batman. Bruce decide di farsi aiutare da Robin, ma inutilmente. L'enigmista ha rapito e portato nella sua costruzione a cilindro a picco sul mare Chase e Robin, e Batman, con l'unico abbigliamento rimastogli, un prototipo, deve usare tutte le sue straordinarie capacità per salvare i due amici. Sia Nygma che Dent periscono nella rocambolesca lotta con Batman."@it
