Deathtrap

Sidney Bruhl is a Broadway playwright with a problem. He is all washed up. Once a master of the thriller genre, his latest whodunnit has just been booed off the stage by angry first-nighters, and, as he heads home to East Hampton, he realises he is almost out of options. He can either go on playing with his writer's block; or live off his wealthy wife's money. Of course what he really needs is another smash hit. As his professional life lies in ruins, he receives, through the post a new thriller by one of his former students. It is a play, it is brilliant, and the only person who has read it is Sidney, who has always admitted he'd kill for a hit. Which is precisely what he decides to do.
