"This adaptation of Henry Fielding's beloved novel, Tom Jones, is a picaresque adventure through the eighteenth century. Tom Jones, an abandoned infant of nebulous parentage, is found at the home of the good-natured Squire Allworthy and his sister Bridget. Raised as the ward of the unmarried country gentleman, he grows into a handsome and roguish lad, irresistible to the women around town. His one true love, however, is the beautiful Sophie, daughter of his boorish and opportunistic neighbor, Squire Western.
