Includes a brief biographical sketch, as well as tributes from personal and political friends. Edward was the son of Frank M. Carmack and Elvira Kate, and was born near Castalian Springs, Sumner County, Tennessee. He lived chiefly in Columbia and Nashville, Tennessee, and married Elizabeth Cobey in 1890.
