State Fair

"The Franke family, filled with plans and dreams ... prepare for their annual journey to the Iowa State Fair. Meet Melissa Frake, hoping for first prize in the mincemeat and pickles contest, while husband Abel Frake bets on the blue ribbon for his lovesick hog, Blueboy. Daughter Margy, bored with her fiancé Harry's less than ideal plans for their future, wishes for true love and excitement. Her brother Wayne, left without a date for the fair, can only commiserate as he also yearns for romance. Once at the fair, Wayne and Margy find stars in their eyes when Wayne meets big-band singer Emily Edwards and Margy meets suave newspaper reporter Pat Gilbert. Stir in some brandy, a most appreciative contest judge named Mr. Hippenstahl and enough memorable songs to set everyone singing, including Blueboy the hog ..."--Videodisc sleeve.
