Andy Capp's famous comic strip about the citizens of Dogpatch comes to the screen in this first of two adaptations. Featuring most of the characters that appeared in the newspaper strip, this comedy centers upon the annual Sadie Hawkins Day celebration, which gives the unmarried females in town an opportunity to chase down and catch a husband from the local bachelors. Abner (Granville Owen) seems to be the target of three ladies, including his girlfriend Daisy Mae (Martha O'Driscoll).
