  • "Disc 1. Francisco Franco wrote a story with screenplay structure that was titled "Race" and was signed with the pseudonym Jaime de Andrade. The story, titled RACE, was made into a movie with all government support. The identity of the author was kept secret, even though Franco knew about production from the start. -- Disc 2. Race 1950: In 1950 the film underwent many changes because of anti-American references and references to fascism. It was revived under the title, SPIRIT OF A RACE, and copies of the first version were destroyed. For years it was given up for lost, until in 1993 Spanish Film Library acquired a copy that came from a movie theater. This led shortly afterwards to the location in Berlin Cinematheque of another copy of the first version. This is the basis for the presentation for the first time on DVD of the second version."
  • "Both the 1940 film and the edited 1950 films included."
