Apollo 17 on the shoulders of giants

Contains the original NASA film showing the last Apollo mission. Commander Gene Cernan, command module pilot Ronald Evans, and lunar module pilot Harrison "Jack" Schmitt, who was the first geologist to walk on the Moon, landed at the Taurus-Littrow site and conducted three successful EVAs. Looking for evidence of lunar volcanoes, the astronauts collected core samples and planted experimental probes before their exciting discovery of orange soil: evidence of volcanic activity. The Apollo program played a significant role in the future of Skylab, the space shuttle program and the Apollo-Soyuz link-up.
