William Critchlow (1809-1894) was born in East Deer Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the son of David Critchlow (1787-1828) and Margaret Coe Critchlow (1788-1849). He married Harriet Hawkins (1805-1887) of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, in 1832 and moved to Leechburg, Pennsylvania. They had five children, 1833-1839. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1839 and migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1844. They migrated west with the Mormon pioneers, living awhile at Garden Grove, Iowa, and arriving in Utah in 1851. They settled at Ogden, Utah. Descendants listed lived in Utah, Idaho, and elsewhere.
