Rio Grande (Motion picture)

15 years back, Lt. Colonel Kirby Yorke's devotion to military duty led him to destroy the plantation home of his southern-born wife during the Civil War. He is now a lonely man, fighting Indians in the west. Returning from his latest skirmish with the Apaches, Yorke finds that his son Jeff, enlisted as an ordinary soldier after failing at West Point, has been assigned to his command. Yorke's estranged wife, Kathleen, has also arrived at the fort in an effort to buy her son's way out of the army. A group of renegade Apaches keeps eluding Yorke by crossing the Rio Grande into Mexico, but he plans a raid in hopes that it will end the problem for good.
