On April 26, 1913 Mary Phagan (played by Wendy J. Cooke), the 13-year old Atlanta pencil factory worker was murdered. Based on this true story, Leo Frank, a wealthy Jew from the North, who was lynched for the murder of Ms. Phagan. Popular prejudice controlled the legal process, posing a moral dilemma for Georgia Gov. John M. Slaton, and ending his political career.
