This film, made by the National Film Board of Canada (of which he was founder), is a tribute to the man and his work. It takes the form of a biography, interspersed with extracts from interviews with Grierson himself and with comments from the people who knew him and worked with him. Among them are many notable film-makers: Paul Rotha, Joris Ivens, Harry Watt, Basil Wright, etc. There are also extracts from some of the films he produced, including "Drifters", his one film as director."
