Vienna circa 1900 was an artistic capital brimming with life and vitality. In painting, a new movement known as the Vienna Secession was founded by Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), Egon Schiele (1890-1918), Koloman Moser (1868-1918), and Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980), four painters whose striking work sums up this boldly inventive period. This documentary was produced to coincide with an exhibition at the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais, Paris, 3 October 2005 - 23 January 2006.
