The House On the Strand

Disenchanted with his marriage, and at odds with his profession, Dick Young is ready for a change. An old friend, Professor Magnus Lane, offers him the use of a remote Cornish farmhouse for the summer. In return, Dick agrees to act as a 'guinea pig' for a new mind-expanding drug that Magnus has discovered during his biophysical research. The effect of the drug transports him from the 20th century to the 14th, where he finds himself observing the intrigues, adultery and murder that take place in the manor of Tywardreath, domain of Sir Henry Champernoune.
