Political correspondence from Daniel Read Anthony, Jr.'s, first and last terms of office in the U.S. House of Representatives. The correspondence is primarily letters received. The first set is dated 1907-1908 and deals with his election to the House of Representatives as well as with Kansas Republican Party politics and patronage. William Howard Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt letters are included in the collection. The second set of letters were written while Anthony was in Arizona recuperating from an illness (1926-28). The letters contain references to both his health and his prospects for a return to Congress. Anthony made notes regarding answers, to assist his secretary, in several instances. In one letter, Alice Paul thanks him for introducing the Equal Rights Amendment.
