This series consists of correspondence generated by the office of the Commissioner of Revenue. It documents the activities and functions of the office including the levying of state taxes and the investigation of all matters relating to state taxes. A large part of the series consists of routine requests forwarded to the Dept. of Revenue from the Governor's office. Among the prominent individuals represented in the correspondence are Ralph P. Eagerton, Jr., Harry H. Haden, Charles A. Boswell, Philip J. Hamm, and Harvey L. Rabren. Photographs of Hamm and Rabren, and certificate of John W. Lapsley are also included.
