Prequel to the series of comic book adaptations. The film travels back to a time before Magneto and Professor X were mortal enemies and were known as Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr. The two young men team up to recruit a group of mutants to save the world from an evil scientist's plans of nuclear destruction. In the process a rift forms between the friends, instigating the war between the X-Men and the Brotherhood.
