"In 1975 the Mexican writer Ulises Carrión, who had begun to publish his own artists' books in about 1971, set up Other Books and So in Amsterdam, the first bookshop specializing in this type of works, which also functioned as a publishing company and an archive. Carrión's involvement in Mail Art and Postal Art came into being. Some of these pieces were exhibited for the first time at the Graphic Arts Institute of Oaxaca and at the Library of Mexico, as exhibits that served as an introduction for the Ulises Carrion retrospective at the Carrillo Art Museum."
