The Congressional Medal of Honor collection is an artificial collection created by the U.S. Army Military History Institute. The bulk of the collection consists of information regarding Vietnam era Medal of Honor recipients from all branches of the U.S. military from 1964 to 1978. The collection also contains a scrapbook regarding the Medal of Honor Legion; engraving orders detailing correspondence between the Office of the Military Secretary to engravers authorizing the production of medals for approved recipients; reports, including plans for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Medal of Honor with alphabetical listing of all recipients up to the date of the ceremony and an incomplete listing of recipients from pre-Civil War through the Korean War; photographs; and press releases.
