While many of the letters fall into the category of "fan mail" (from persons thanking/congratulating Garrison, etc.), there are also many of greater substance (e.g., a letter from Garrison to Shaw's defense attorney discussing details of the case, and Garrison's memo to one of his assistants regarding the David Ferrie autopsy). Correspondents include Marina [Oswald] Porter, Mrs. Marguerite Oswald, the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation, Melvin Belli, and, generally, members of the news media and legal profession.
