Boyce was home from attending four Kentucky associations and the Ohio Baptist State Convention, who gave him an "informal hearing." He asked Ohio to endow "our school [Southern Baptist Theological Seminary] for $30,000." Discusses controversies over letters Broadus and [William Heth] Whitsitt had written "to [Horatio B.] Hackett," saying he has the originals. He says "contrary to what I wrote you I did not write Hackett. ... I just concluded to stop there." The discussion was on alien immersion and [J.R.] Graves and "Pike" had opposing views. He continues to advise Broadus to separate from the editorship of the [Religious] herald and then write so far as you please.
