Hollander (Jacob Harry) papers

The papers are largely Hollander's professional correspondence dealing with his teaching at Hopkins, his writings on economic theory, and his work in the areas of social welfare and economic reform. Some of the topics covered are his work as chairman of the Permanent Group Committee on the Dominican Republic, the First (1915) and Second (1920) Pan-American Financial Conferences; his membership in the American Economic Association; his work on many Johns Hopkins University faculty committees; a study for the U.S. Coal Commission of corporate relationships and financing (1923); chairmanship of a commission to study per diem wages by contractors in Baltimore (1929); membership on the Maryland Tax Survey Commission (1931-1932); a study of women clothing industry strikes in Baltimore (1932, 1933); membership on the commission to study old age pensions in Maryland (1934); and membership on the Chamber of Commerce Monetary Policy Committee (1934-1939).
