Poe, [Philadelphia] writes to the New York publishers enclosing an article for the "Democratic Review." He is "desperately pushed for money" and would like the usual sum in payment before the 21st. He apologizes for his drunken behavior when in New York and blames the juleps forced on him by [William Ross] Wallace. He discusses his review of Rufus Dawes' poetry which was later published in Graham's magazine.
