  • "Modern dancer Erick Hawkins feels that Indian tribes living close to his hometown, Trinidad, Colorado, have influenced his dance aesthetics. He did not discover dance until college, when he encountered Isadora Duncan. After studying in Austria and New York, he danced with and choreographed for Ballet Caravan. Finding ballet too restrictive, and turned to modern dance, and spent twelve years with the Martha Graham Company. He eventually broke away, developed his own style, and integrated Eastern movement concepts into his dance vocabulary. This film collects some of his most famous pieces, interspersed with Hawkins discussing the works."@en
