Knapp siebzig Jahre später übersetzt sein Landsmann Joann Sfar den Welterfolg in eine Graphic Novel. Die lieblichen Illustrationen des Klassikers interpretiert er modern schrill in Farb und Form. Diese ungewohnten Bilder ziehen die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und der Text droht aus dem Fokus zu geraten. Dennoch verliert Exupérys Plädoyer für Freundschaft und Aufrichtigkeit nichts an ihrem Tiefgang und Sfar bleibt der Originalerzählung treu. Dies übrigens auch bezüglich der ursprünglichen Illustrationen. So bleibt der kleine Prinz ein Blondschopf in froschgrüner Kleidung mit windverwehtem Schal. Darüberhinaus untermalt Sfars Farbenpracht vielerorts die Stimmungen und fängt eine Möglichkeit vieler Vorstellungen ein. Eine durchwegs gelungene Interpretation des weltberühmten Klassikers!
