The Vernon family and arms
Daniel Vernon (1643-1715), son of Samuel, immigrated about 1666 from London, England to Newport, Rhode Island, and moved to Narragansett, Rhode Island. He married widow Ann (Hutchinson) Dyre in 1679, and later lived in Kingston and then Newport. Samuel Vernon (1683-1737), a son of Daniel and grandson of Samuel of London, had to go to London, England when his grandfather died, but later returned to Newport. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Kentucky and elsewhere.
